On a small day, yes: sand, a soft wave and a small crowd. The Dolphinarium to the north has the same wave with a surf school on the beach.
When does Maaravi work?
A moderate western or south-western swell with an east wind, October to April. The Jaffa rocks and port soften a north-western swell, so it is usually smaller than Hilton on the same day, and cleaner in a north wind than the city-centre beaches.
Why is Maaravi less crowded?
It is far from the marina and the promenade, where Tel Aviv's surfers gather. On a moderate-swell day that is its big advantage.
